FORT LEE, N.J. — The Fort Lee Soccer Club celebrated its 40th anniversary this weekend, marking four decades of youth soccer, community involvement and generations of local players who have grown up through the program.

Founded in 1986, the club has become a long-standing part of Fort Lee’s youth sports community. Over the years, it has provided young players with opportunities to learn the game, improve their skills and compete while also developing teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

The anniversary celebration brought together current players, families, coaches, board members and local officials. Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich and members of the Borough Council were among those who joined the event and helped recognize the club’s 40-year history.

For the organization, the milestone was also an opportunity to acknowledge the many people who have helped sustain the program over the decades. Club representatives thanked coaches and board members for their work and credited families for their continued support year after year.

Particular recognition was given to the players, whose dedication and enthusiasm remain at the center of the program.

Youth sports organizations often become more than places to practice and compete, serving as gathering points for families and helping build connections across a community. In Fort Lee, the Soccer Club has played that role for generations of residents since its founding.

The 40th anniversary celebration reflected both the club’s history and its continued presence in the borough today.

As the organization marked the years from 1986 to 2026, its message was also focused on the future — continuing the program for new generations of Fort Lee players in the decades ahead.
