A bar in Montenegro has found perhaps the most charming way to welcome its guests — with a cat leading them to their table.

A viral video filmed in Budva’s historic Old Town shows a fluffy black-and-white cat confidently walking ahead of visitors through the narrow stone streets before guiding them toward an available table.

And just in case guests are unsure where to go, a nearby sign offers a simple instruction: “Follow the cat.”

A Furry Host in Budva

The scene quickly attracted attention online, with viewers joking that the cat may be one of the most efficient restaurant hosts they have ever seen.

The location has been identified online as an area around Freedom Prosciutteria and Blue Cat Art Cafe in Budva’s Old Town, where cats are already very much part of the atmosphere.

Reviews of the area mention the “Follow the cat” signs and resident cats wandering around the bars and courtyards.

In the viral clip, the cat appears completely comfortable in its role, walking ahead of the guests and stopping at a table as if this were simply part of the evening routine.

Montenegro’s Cats Become Part of the Experience

Cats are a familiar sight in Montenegro’s historic coastal towns, particularly in Budva and Kotor, where they have become part of the character of the old stone streets, cafés and courtyards.

The video prompted a wave of reactions online, with many viewers saying they would visit the restaurant just to meet its unusual host.

Whether officially employed or simply doing the job voluntarily, the cat has managed to turn an ordinary restaurant welcome into something visitors are unlikely to forget.

Sometimes perfect service really does come with four paws.
