SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Tesla crashed through the garage of a South Brunswick home Friday morning and continued into the kitchen, leaving behind significant damage but only minor injuries to the driver.
Emergency crews responded to the crash at approximately 11:01 a.m. Friday, according to information shared by Breaking911.
The vehicle reportedly went through the home’s garage before coming to a stop inside the kitchen.
Driver Suffers Minor Injuries
The driver, described as a 68-year-old Plainsboro resident, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
No serious injuries to anyone inside the home were immediately reported in the information released with the incident.
Images from the scene show the Tesla deep inside the structure, illustrating just how far the vehicle traveled after leaving the roadway.
Cause of Crash Not Yet Clear
It was not immediately clear what caused the Tesla to crash into the home, and authorities had not publicly identified whether speed, driver error, a medical issue or another factor may have contributed.
South Brunswick has dealt with other Tesla-related crashes in recent years, including a 2025 incident in which a Tesla operating with an automated driving feature struck a parked vehicle in a residential driveway. Police stressed in that case that drivers remain responsible for maintaining control of their vehicles even when driver-assistance technology is being used.
Friday’s crash remains under investigation.
