Sen. Andy Kim met with Palestinian Americans from New Jersey at the U.S. Capitol to discuss concerns affecting their communities, including the humanitarian situation in Gaza and fears surrounding speaking publicly about Palestinian issues.

Kim confirmed the meeting Monday in a post on his official Facebook page, sharing photographs from the gathering.

“At the Capitol, I met with Palestinian Americans from New Jersey to hear about what’s on their mind — from the urgent need for humanitarian relief in Gaza to the fears they face speaking out for their communities,” Kim wrote.

He acknowledged that the conversations can be difficult but said they remain necessary.

“These are difficult conversations, but they are important,” Kim wrote. “Everyone deserves to have their voice heard, their rights protected, and their government listen to their concerns.”

The meeting reflects direct engagement between New Jersey’s U.S. senator and Palestinian American constituents at a time when the war in Gaza and U.S. policy in the Middle East continue to generate intense public debate.

Kim’s statement did not announce a new legislative proposal or specific policy commitment resulting from the meeting. Instead, his post focused on listening to constituents and protecting their ability to speak about issues affecting their communities.
