SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — The Sussex County Sunflower Maze welcomed visitors Sunday after concerns that recent rain might affect field conditions.
Organizers said the area avoided the heaviest rainfall and that the sunflower fields remained in good condition. By Sunday, the weather had improved, with sunshine returning and the attraction fully open to visitors.
The event also included food trucks and live music, with music scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The maze remained open until 7 p.m., giving families and visitors several hours to walk through the fields and enjoy the late-summer scenery.

Photos shared by the organizers showed large sections of the field still filled with blooming sunflowers, while other areas reflected the natural progression of the season.
The Sussex County Sunflower Maze has become a popular seasonal destination for visitors looking for outdoor activities, photography and a quieter rural experience in northern New Jersey.
For those looking for a simple Sunday outing, the return of sunshine made it a good day to visit the fields before the sunflower season begins to wind down.
