United Airlines has announced its largest international expansion in company history, adding 10 new international destinations, including eight new routes from Newark Liberty International Airport.

The announcement was made during an event at Newark Liberty, where United CEO Scott Kirby highlighted the airline’s investments in reliability, technology, aircraft and the onboard passenger experience.

Kirby said those improvements have helped make the expansion possible, adding that “the people’s desire to see and explore the world is bigger and brighter than ever.”

The new routes from Newark will include destinations across Europe, giving New Jersey and New York-area travelers more nonstop options beginning in 2027.

Kirby also pointed to improvements at Newark Liberty itself, including federal efforts to improve airport operations, and described Newark as now being “the most reliable of the New York airports.”

The event also showcased United’s newest aircraft, the Airbus A321XLR, along with new cabin features and passenger amenities.

The expansion further strengthens Newark Liberty’s role as one of United’s most important international hubs and gives travelers in New Jersey access to an even broader network of overseas destinations without the need for connecting flights.
