HelloFresh is closing its distribution center in Swedesboro, New Jersey, a move that will affect 374 workers and add another significant round of layoffs to the state’s 2026 job losses.
SWEDESBORO, NJ — Meal-kit company HelloFresh has confirmed plans to close its distribution center in Swedesboro, South Jersey, eliminating 374 jobs. The layoffs are listed in New Jersey’s official Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN, records.
The company said the decision followed a review of its operational footprint and that work currently handled at the Swedesboro facility will be integrated into HelloFresh’s broader fulfillment network.
HelloFresh said eligible employees affected by the closure will receive support that may include severance assistance, extended health-care benefits, career-transition resources and opportunities to transfer internally where positions are available.
The New Jersey WARN filing lists November 17, 2026 as the effective date associated with the Swedesboro layoffs.
The closure comes during a year in which a number of major employers have announced substantial job reductions across New Jersey. In July alone, 13 employers announced approximately 2,440 layoffs, according to a review of state WARN filings by New Jersey 101.5. Those announcements included hundreds of positions at Samsung Electronics America, Novartis and Mars Wrigley.
HelloFresh’s Swedesboro operation has been part of the company’s meal-kit distribution network, shipping pre-portioned ingredients directly to customers. Products connected with Green Chef, another HelloFresh brand, were also distributed from the facility.
For the 374 employees affected, however, the closure represents something much more immediate than a corporate restructuring: hundreds of New Jersey families will now be preparing for a major employment transition before the end of the year.
