A 27-year-old Washington Borough man has been charged after a 6-year-old child was allegedly kidnapped from her home early Saturday morning in Warren County, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police received a report of the missing child at about 2:51 a.m. on September 5. Investigators determined that she had allegedly been taken from her home. About an hour later, officers found the child walking back home. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities later arrested Lester Noe Perez-Amador, 27, who investigators said was known to the child. He was charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree home invasion burglary.
Perez-Amador is being held at the Warren County Correctional Center pending his first court appearance. The investigation remains ongoing and involves local police, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police and the FBI Newark Field Office.
The charges are accusations, and Perez-Amador is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
