Bayonne’s historic run in Williamsport continues. The New Jersey team defeated West Chester, Pennsylvania, 3-1 Friday night, improving to 2-0 at the Little League World Series.
WILLIAMSPORT, PA — Bayonne Little League is still unbeaten on the biggest stage in youth baseball.
The Metro Region champions defeated East Side Little League of West Chester, Pennsylvania, 3-1 Friday night, earning their second consecutive victory at the 2026 Little League World Series.
Bayonne took control early.
A.J. Tapia doubled in the second inning, and Joey Dwyer followed with an RBI single to help give Bayonne a 2-0 lead. Mason Rincon then added another run with a home run in the fourth inning — his second homer in as many World Series games.
Rincon was also the hero of Bayonne’s opening game Wednesday, when his walk-off home run gave the team a dramatic 2-1 victory over Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
Strong pitching keeps Bayonne ahead
Starting pitcher Chase Klimkowski delivered a strong performance against West Chester, pitching 5⅓ innings and allowing just one unearned run on six hits.
He struck out six batters and did not issue a walk.
Gabe Garcia Jr. came in to record the final two outs and close out the victory.
The win extends Bayonne’s overall winning streak to 15 games and keeps alive an extraordinary summer for a team making its first appearance at the Little League World Series.
It also marks the first time since 1999 that a New Jersey team has started the Little League World Series with a 2-0 record.
Bayonne is celebrating back home
The excitement is not limited to Williamsport.
Watch parties across Bayonne have drawn large crowds, with residents gathering to follow every pitch and celebrate the hometown team.
CBS New York reported that fans packed a local watch party Friday night, while parents and supporters described the level of community support surrounding the young players as extraordinary.
News 12 reported that the city has rallied around the team under the slogan “Bayonne vs. Everybody.”
Next up: Iowa
Bayonne now moves deeper into the winners bracket.
The team’s next game is scheduled for Sunday against Davenport Northwest Little League of Iowa, the Midwest Region champion.
A victory would move Bayonne into the U.S. winners bracket final and another step closer to playing for the United States championship.
For now, the young players from Hudson County remain undefeated — and their historic Little League World Series run continues.
