A video circulating on social media appears to show U.S. immigration officers detaining a man while he was engaged in Muslim prayer.
The footage, shared Monday on X by several accounts including AF Post and RadioGenoa, shows a man on a prayer mat before federal immigration officers approach and take him into custody.
In the video, at least one officer is wearing a vest marked “POLICE U.S. IMMIGRATION,” identifying the officers as federal immigration enforcement personnel.
Social media posts sharing the footage claim the man was an undocumented immigrant and that officers arrested him directly from his prayer mat during the prayer session.
The video itself clearly shows the detention and the presence of federal immigration officers. However, the man’s identity, immigration status, the reason for the arrest, and the exact location of the incident have not yet been independently confirmed.
The footage does not appear to show a confrontation before the detention. The man is seen being escorted away by officers after the prayer was interrupted.
The video quickly drew attention online because of the circumstances surrounding the arrest, particularly the fact that it took place during a Muslim prayer session.
